What is ABM?

Bookkeepers are required in all enterprises: benefit organizations, fabricating businesses, government associations, and the fund business. With the correct foundation, bookkeepers can act as business supervisors, reviewers, money related examiners, administration specialists and data frameworks investigators. After some experience, they are regularly taken official positions. There are chances to travel and work with a differing scope of organizations. A large portion of the organizations which support the Co-operation Program are worldwide associations, who send their effective representatives everywhere throughout the world.

Accountants can be employed in any of the following fields; Management Accounting, refers to the processes and technologies designed to secure the effective use of organisational resources, in diverse, dynamic and competitive environments. Financial Accounting, refers to that area of accounting concerned with the design and operation of information and reporting systems directed to parties external to an organisation. Assurance Services, refers to the examination, verification and evaluation of, and the reporting on, financial or managerial processes, systems or outcomes in diverse and evolving contexts of accountability, to improve economic decision making and add value to clients. Treasury and Financial Markets, refers to that area of work concerned with the global management of financial risk for organisations and the evaluation of financial investments. Management Consulting, refers to the examination and evaluation of strategies, systems, processes, outcomes and managerial dynamics of an organisation with a view to providing recommendations for improved performance.

An ABM Adventure

By Jhaymar Languido

People nowadays are always engage in their gadgets due to the influential factor of technology especially in the 21st century.  I always see them texting or messaging to their acquaintances, posting and commenting what they feel in facebook or twitter, and sometimes sharing their knowledge and thoughts from previous life experiences through blogging. That is how ICT or Information and Communication Technology affect my life as a millennial. No wonder why the Philippines became a pioneering country when it comes to this field.
As my first step in second semester of senior high school, I never thought that this subject will occur in the curriculum because we are at the Rasay Campus and the building doesn’t have any computers yet. When the teacher came out, I was surprised that it was our Entrepreneurship expert teacher during our first semester. I admit that she was still lacking enough training on that subject because of having a hard time in teaching us to build a mini business. That is why we also find it difficult. I expect that she’ll still crap out on ICT.
Later on, I realized that I was very wrong. She managed to teach us the right learning that we can carry for our future jobs specifically in the business industry. We learned how to be confident and tough in posting our community problem in facebook so that we can voice out our opinion to make it better. We also try to have mail merge that we might utilize for personal or business purposes and the latest projects such as creating web pages, making promotional video with my classmates and the other upcoming tasks that we’ll surely make us globally competent.
My teacher tries her best to give us the knowledge that we deserve to learn despite the lacking of facilities. We have these performance tasks that develop our millennial skills and have the courage to share our thoughts with other people. I found out that ICT is not just about operating computers for work purposes, this is a tool that can make us connected and exchange messages worldwide that make the bond with them stronger. I am confident that I’m partly prepared from what the future awaits for me. This is what ICT is all about; to communicate wholeheartedly without hassle.
On my experience in ABM, it was a memorable one because I’ve discovered and learned many things with regards to management and financing. I am thankful to my teachers that they did their very best to expand our knowledge even though they were not experts on that field. They try to cope up and manage to learn what they need to teach on us because they know that we need it in order to be globally competent. I love the activities in this school year because it marked my additional experience in high school. While learning, we also enjoy it and I hope that there’s more of it next time.

Dear Mr. Montano:

This letter is a formal request for admission to University of Mindanao. I have looked at several colleges that offer Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration, and chose University of Mindanao because of its high accreditation in the city. Your program is very extensive covering many more aspects of marketing, human resource, financing, etc. than other colleges in this state. This university is a well-known institution and many graduates here soar out high being contented in fulfilling their dreams with the school’s assistance. My mother is an alumna of this school and she told me that it gave her the right and proper learning that she got in equipping her capabilities as a full-pledge teacher without digging much of her money.

My aim is to discover and develop new skills to prepare myself for another difficulty in life and I believe that University of Mindanao is the best option to prepare myself for this challenge. I have achieved simultaneous merit awards on my previous school and joined different organizations to explore my potentials as a student. Learning as much as I can about business matters especially in financial management which I about to choose will help me create social interaction with others and have an honest and accurate practice in financing.

My application form and the entire required documents are attached. I am hoping for your favorable response from you. If you would like to arrange an appointment or have any inquiries regarding my personal background, I can be reached at 09051330950 or jklanguido@gmail.com. Thank you for your kind attention to my application.

Sincerely,

ABM is a strand that will help us to equip with the right knowledge and skills to prepare in the corporate world. It is also best for students who want to become a businessman, entrepreneurs, marketing or sales manager, financial officers and so much more that can contribute to the operations of the business industry.
For me, as a student, i choose ABM as my academic strand because someday, i want to build and manage my own business and hopefully, i can build my own company. In this strand, I've experienced and learned a lot of things that would help us to manage our own business in the future. Our main subject in the first semester was (OM) or Organization and Management.
This subject will help us to organize and manage our time when it comes to business. You can learn how to create our own PESTEL analysis, and your goal settings to make your business ratings grow higher in the near future. And then, in the second semester, our main subject was not (OM) or Organization and Management anymore.
Instead, it leveled up into a quite difficult one which is the Accounting Education. In this subject, I've realized that being an accountant was very hard. It needs time, sweat, and hard work in order to accomplish your work. Also, in this subject, i have learned how to use the what so called general journal, and the general ledger.
Those two will be used for recording all the debits and credits of your business company. Being in an ABM strand was quite hard but challenging because this will help us to achieve our goals and dreams in life which is to have our own business someday in the near future. And also, there is a saying that "Nothing Beats Hard Work".
So, we need to strive hard and do our best to become a successful in life and to become a successful businessman or business woman someday.

I enjoyed the most the Academic track, the ABM strand. This is the strand for those who dream to be the future businessman or businesswoman and be part of the huge contribution to our economy. Some students say that ABM is a hard type of strand, that this strand was composed of all mathematics subjects, that this strand needs to serious at all times and that this strand is only for the students who ate excellent in math and some other subjects they didn't want to take.
But to the almost 10 months in this ABM strand I didn't notice that I need to be excellent in mathematics, that I don't need to be serious much of the time, because I really enjoying this strand that I have chosen. I didn't feel that I have a hard time to learn the lessons that we need to understand projects to accomplish and to have a high grade. I am just having fun while learning, playing when doing projects and grade is not an issue for me. We are not just colleagues, we are friends all here, we support each other, we care for each other and we promote faith, hope and love. We, the ABM students, are unique from others, we are exceptional.
This kind of experience, the enjoyment, the practice of ethics, the family within us, and the love that we experience for each of one of us will always in my heart.

Dear Mr. Bautista:
After doing much research about colleges in the area that have an accounting, I am applying to Ohio State University because of the outstanding reputation and the exceptional reviews that I have read from other recent graduates. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about accounting at the Ohio State University because of the graduate accounting that are offered.
Currently, I am just beginning my journey and ready to dive into the undergraduate studies program. My ultimate goal is to finish the accounting at Ohio State University. Once I have completed my undergraduate in accounting, my desire is to continue my studies and enter the graduate program. I am sure this is the correct career path, as I grew up in a family where my father was a counselor and my mother a social worker. My father is a graduate of the Ohio State University, and my mother a graduate of OU University. Considering both of my parents have similar career paths, I feel like I would be honoring them.
Pursuing an accouting major is my long-term goal, and I would like to start by earning my Bachelor’s of Science and Business Administration from Ohio State University. I have attached my application, as well as transcripts, an essay, and all of my letters of recommendation as defined in my admissions packet. I appreciate your time and consideration and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely yours,

Being an Accounting Business Management student or ABM is difficult but if you’re passionate enough for all the things that you want to do, this strand will not be that hard. Given the reality, “there is nothing easy in this world, you’re just got used to it.” I chose this strand because first of all I found it challenging practically because I had seen my cousin strove very hard pursuing BSA or Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and proudly she became a cum-laude at the one of the most prestigious and well-known school in Davao, Ateneo de Davao University. Second is I love math or numbers even though I may not have a very high grade in this subject but due to the fact that it seems quite easy for me, it is because I do not complicate things although sometimes it is not good at me, math is my best friend.
In this strand, I had learned many things. I have learned things according to my subjects. I have not only learned but also experienced and perform what I have already learned. For example are the performance tasks in 21st century literature from the Philippines and the world subject. The latest performances were the drama presentation of “Third world geography”, pantomime presentation of “Home of the ash fall”, rap presentation of “Death”, and many more. Those performance task were presented with learnings about those poetries. In my specialization, fundamentals of accounting, I have knew how to record and analyze entries even though I need guidance when recording to ensure what I am doing is right. It is a preparation for my course in the future. A have learned also things related to technologies and websites that were taught in Media and Information Literacy and Empowerment Technologies subjects. In addition, I had learned to make a research whether quantitative or qualitative research, survey or interview designed research, and Filipino or English based research. And for that research, I knew how to defend it. Furthermore, I had been a part of a symposium which I was the speaker. I had made products to sell for entrepreneurship. I had made business plans, critique works, and understand deeper meanings. Hence, I had improve my self-confidence, my skills, my knowledge, my understanding, and my mistakes and change for the better. My first ten months in senior high, grade 11, is an experience which I will not forget and always remember.

My experiences in ABM strand was totally good and I was very thankful that I've chose
this track.Because of ABM I discovered a lot of things in myself.Instead in our daily activities
,what we normally do in school writing Las,research and projects.Everyday is such a battle for me although my classmates are very competitive.I engage myself in different curricular activities ,such as during events in our school. The first event I've never forget was the SASAYAW MUSIKA 2016 in which I'd participated and joined the dance group MAB as the representative of dancing competition in ABM department.I challenge myself even though I'm not so good in dancing but I still did my best because this is what I want. And fortunately we won the competition .After the event it was announced that the all around champion was the ABM department. I was so very happy and proud at that moment because we defend our title 'Shall never be defeated'.

Moreover, the day we are celebrating the foundation day we test our skills on how to be a young entrepreneur and a business man.Our performance task is to make our own product and sell it
What I like the most in ABM is we create camaraderie everyone was motivated to do the things we think it's impossible.I will not say to much about What I had experienced because what I know our journey will continue..
In addition,It's nature to us as a student to say ,the life of being a student was very hard.Certainly we want to aim good grades, but we did not notice we are growing. The teacher's who's always there to inspire us.We learn new lessons and we learn new things everyday and that was a beautiful experience. For me, no matter what career you've take, what strand it is. As long as you enjoy your life of being a student.

In ABM really need to know what is the important if you are an entrepreneur. For being an entrepreneur is not easy, you need to know the thing and think wise for your business. We, the students are really interested in business because we really want have a own business and have our own money. Especially the students of Davao Central College taking a Accounting Business and Management. As what I’ve observed some of my co-students are have their own business some of them are in online business, the online business is not also easy because you really need spend a time on social media to answer their inquiries and always update your items. Online business is very helpful on the students who really want have a financial. But this student’s who have an online business is not only ABM students.
I’ve experienced some of activities on ABM course. In ABM class, we have a requirements this is ledger, journal and also a calculator. We do the different class that connected in our course. At first we cannot catch up the topic but after days that we discuss it so we can do it. It’s really hard to catch up the different topics of Accounting and to compute the numbers.

Accounting Business and Management is not easy but if you’re really interested to know well you can do. ABM is a great course to choose when you’re want to have a own business in your life.

By Jessa Bermoy

ABM was not my first choice, it was STEM because I wanted to take up environmental science in college. But then my mom talk me out of it saying if I wanted a profession that is in line to a great number of jobs ABM is the strand for me. So I took ABM mainly because I trust my mom, who has a more experience of how this world works, and because being an entrepreneur or an accountant some day may be my calling. And so far I haven’t regretted it.
PESTEL analysis, SMART, SWOT analysis, HRM and HRD, debit and credit, journal entry, posting, etc. These are some of the topics that was taught to us. Goal setting was the topic that have been a big impact to my life. For in goal setting we are taught of SMART, in this I have learned that in setting a goal it must be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. My ABM life was not always been about lessons. There were also fun activities like the SASAYAMUSIKA where our department triumph as an over all champion.
The road to success is not an easy one but I am sure the learnings and experiences that I have now will be my guide to that road ahead.

By Jezyl Bacalso

My experience about my strand ABM is that I found myself enjoying others companies. Helping one another and building dreams, I never forget the first event we had in our school its entitled “SasayawMusika” different strands compete in order to win, but luckily our strand won. I never thought that our strand would actually win the event, because other strand are very competitive to win the event. We had a lot of event we strive, even though sometimes we didn’t won other events. But its okay, atleast we did our very best to compete with other strand.

But my most unforgettable experience in ABM is that i developed my skills to stand infront of my classmates without any hesitation, I was able to become who I am. I was able to meet new friends who accepts my personality and loved me anyways despite of my flaws.I was trained hard to be capable to do things that I know that I cant do, this strand helps me a lot. There is a quote that,” The best teacher is experience and not through someone's distorted point of view".

As an ABM student my experience in dealing with this course is that we learn more about the things in business on how to manage it, to organize it, and to learn more about the strategies in having a business in the business world. I found out that the more we learn the more knowledge we can get and at the same time we can use it in the future. As what I've said earlier we tackled on how to manage business, by organizing and by using some strategies that can help us to make our business group this was in our first semester in ABM.

In the start of second semester in ABM, our teacher instructed and taught us on how to use the ledger and journals because our topic in ABM is now accounting. This topic is more about statistics and related in mathematics which is also part of business. I can say that this could be the hardest part or topic but I guess this was just my opinion because there is other topic in ABM that is harder than accounting. But then again we enjoy because we learn and we love learning.
